Luhono Privacy Policy
What do we mean by "personal information?"
For us, "personal information" means information which either directly identifies you (like your name, email address, or billing information) or can be reasonably linked or combined to identify you (like an account identification number or IP address). We’ll always tell you what personal information we’re collecting from you.
Any information that falls outside of this is "non-personal information."
If we store your personal information with information that is non-personal, we will consider the combination as personal information. If we remove all personal information from a set of data, then the remainder is non-personal information.
How do we learn information about you?
Our goal is to learn as little about you as possible. We are building Luhono to be platform-blind — so that your conversations and content stay private to you, encrypted with keys only you hold.
In full transparency: at the time of publishing, we are not all the way there yet. Some parts of the Service – such as where your files are stored, or where your assistant’s reasoning is processed – do not yet fully meet that standard, and we are actively working to close those gaps. Where we fall short of full platform-blindness today, we hold to one firm rule: any access we need to improve the product, we ask you for — we never take it by default.
The limited information we have about you comes from:
- What you give us directly — such as your account details, or a conversation you deliberately share with us as feedback.
- What we need to run the Service — such as sign-in and authentication records, and basic technical information (like an approximate region from your IP address) needed to deliver and localize the Services.
- What a vendor tells us to complete a transaction — such as our payment processor confirming a subscription payment.
- What you explicitly allow — visibility you grant us to improve the product, always with your consent and never by default.
- We do not build profiles of you, and we are working toward the day when, by design, we cannot see your content at all.
What do we do with your information once we have it?
We use your information to provide the Service to you, and only in the ways you have permitted. We improve the product only from what you deliberately choose to share with us — such as feedback you submit — never from your private conversations or content, which we are working to make unreadable to us by design. Anything beyond that, we ask you for; we never take it by default.
Everyone who uses Luhono has the same core rights over their information: to access it, correct it, export it, and have it deleted. Residents of some regions — including the EU, EEA, Switzerland, and California — also have specific statutory rights; see our Your Data Rights page for those details and how to exercise them.
How do we store and protect your personal information?
Our strongest protection is that, increasingly, we cannot read your content at all — it is encrypted with keys only you hold, so even a breach of our systems would not expose your conversations. We are building toward that being true for everything you store with us.
For the limited information we do hold, we apply physical, technical, and organizational safeguards, and if we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we will notify you so you can protect yourself.
We keep information only as long as we need it. Most of what you share with your Assistant we cannot read and do not retain in readable form; anything you deliberately contribute as feedback we keep as described in our Terms; other information we keep only as long as the purpose requires. When we no longer need it, we delete it — unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
What if we change this Privacy Policy?
We may update this policy over time. When we do, we will post the updated version with a new effective date at the top of the page, and we will email Luhono account holders. If a change is significant, we will make a clear effort to bring it to your attention before it takes effect. Your continued use of the Services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy — and if you do not agree with a change, you can export your data and close your account.
